Intitolata a San Giacomo Apostolo, già cattedrale di Termini, che fu sede vescovile dal IV al X secolo. II 5 marzo 1516 vi furono celebrate le esequie del re Ferdinando il Cattolico e i numerosi baroni convenuti da tutta la Sicilia acclamarono Giovanna e Carlo (il futuro imperatore Carlo V) legittimi eredi del defunto.
Mantiene un certo fascino, al pari dello "Spasimo" di Palermo.

Dedicated to St. James the Apostle, for merly Termini cathedral. it was a bishopric from the 4th to the 10th century. On 5th March 1516 the funeral of king Ferdinand the Catholic was celebrated there and the numerous barons gathered from all over Sicily acclaimed Joanna and Charles (the future emperor Charles V) as legitimate heirs of the deceased. The church which, according to tradition, was consecrated by Pope Innocent Ill, has no roof, seriously damaged during the Second World War.
Also for this reason, as well as for its age, it maintains a certain charm like the "Spasimo" in Palermo.
